I have always loved poetry and this poem has been a favorite of mine way back from my college days as a Literature major.
I find it especially relevant during this time.
At Bluebird Meadow Goat Yoga I specialize in helping my clients tap into Serenity, Peace, Inner Stillness, and Equilibrium.🧘🏻♂️
I share this poem with the hope that you can cultivate those qualities within, as you mindfully read, bringing your awareness to your breath. 👇
When despair grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water,
and the great heron feeds.🦆
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting for their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.🌎
Wendell Berry
I’m challenging all of you to come back to this poem on a warmer sunny day. Find a comfortable spot outside, as wild as you can find. Drink in the fresh air, soak in the sun, quiet your mind, and ponder this poem mindfully.☀️
I’d love to hear if you accepted the challenge and how the experience was for you.
