The Peace of Wild Things

I have always loved poetry and this poem has been a favorite of mine way back from my college days as a Literature major.⁣

I find it especially relevant during this time. ⁣

At Bluebird Meadow Goat Yoga I specialize in helping my clients tap into Serenity, Peace, Inner Stillness, and Equilibrium.🧘🏻‍♂️⁣

I share this poem with the hope that you can cultivate those qualities within, as you mindfully read, bringing your awareness to your breath. 👇⁣

When despair grows in me⁣
and I wake in the night at the least sound⁣
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,⁣
I go and lie down where the wood drake⁣
rests in his beauty on the water, ⁣
and the great heron feeds.🦆⁣

I come into the peace of wild things⁣
who do not tax their lives with forethought⁣
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.⁣
And feel above me the day-blind stars⁣
waiting for their light. For a time⁣
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

I’m challenging all of you to come back to this poem on a warmer sunny day. Find a comfortable spot outside, as wild as you can find. Drink in the fresh air, soak in the sun, quiet your mind, and ponder this poem mindfully.☀️⁣

I’d love to hear if you accepted the challenge and how the experience was for you.⁣
